It’s September, and it won’t be long before the snow starts flying — which means it’s time again for the Camera’s annual First Snow Contest.

Enter today and win a chance at a $200 gift certificate to McGuckin Hardware. Enter the Last Snow Contest, too, and have a shot at another $200 gift certificate to McGuckin.

Entries must be received or postmarked no later than Sept. 19, 2008

We are making things a little tougher this year.

In the past a measurable snow was as little as 0.1 inch. This year, however, the snow must amount to at least 1 inch as measured at our central Boulder weather station.

As usual, the person who most closely guesses the date and time of day the first snowfall in Boulder wins.

For the last snow, just guess the date and time of day we’ll see the last snowfall — again, it has to be at least 1 inch of measurable snow — before June 1, 2009.

Prizes: The winners for the First Snow Contest and Last Snow Contest will receive a $ 200 gift certificate to McGuckin Hardware.
